Usher - Usher Knew He Had Longevity

Usher always knew he'd have a long career.

The 'OMG' hitmaker was just 16 years old when he released his self-titled debut album in 1994 and insists he has no plans to ever give up music and is always keen to explore new ventures to take his work further afield.

He said: ''Longevity was always something in mind. I never thought of it as one album and I'm done, I don't see it near the end here, I plan on doing this as long as I can and enjoying it.''

Speaking about choreographing some of his dance routines for forthcoming Kinect for Xbox 360 game 'Dance Central 3', he added: ''Opportunities and things like this, allow me to share my creativity in other ways. I'm not able to travel to each and every corner of the world, to each and every country, but here is an opportunity for me to share my music and dance around the world.

''This is an opportunity; it's something that's fun, something that's interactive and very current. The only other way to do it is go physically from market to market, from place to place but that's not always possible.''

Usher believes the secret to his long career is his commercial nous teamed with a desire to remain true to himself.

Speaking after he performed 'Scream' at the Xbox 360 press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, he said: ''How have I sustained a long career? A little bit of commercial viability and taking the opportunities, but not conforming or losing the essence of who you are along the way.''

Players and fans will be able to learn and perform Usher's routines with 'Dance Central 3', which is released later this year. Visit Xbox.com for further information.
