Usher - Usher Invites Fans To Digitally Dance With Him?
Usher is giving fans a unique opportunity at one of his London shows in June. Just weeks after Tupac Shakur made a holographic appearance at the Coachella Music Festival, the R&B star is inviting fans to appear with him on-stage, via digital technology, reports the New York Times.
The show will be streamed online on Usher's Vevo channel, with the singer being virtually backed by his fans. Hamish Hamilton, director of the concert website, and of Madonna's 2012 Super Bowl halftime show, said, "Literally, people will be able to create their own avatar and have it dance on the screen with Usher". The show is part of American Express' 'Unstaged' series, which partners high profile directors with musicians. Other concerts in the series include Jack White teaming up with Gary Oldman, and Mary J Blige collaborating with Adam Shankman. Continuing, Hamilton said, "They're feverishly beavering away, trying to put flesh on the bones of this fantastic idea that they said they possibly could do and we all jumped on.They foolishly, in a meeting, said, 'Yeah, we can do this.' At which point we went, 'All right - do it. We'll see you in two weeks in London".
The concert in question will come live from the Hammersmith Apollo in the UK Capital on June 11,2012.
