U.s. Soldier Wants Mila Kunis As His Marine Ball Date

Actress Mila Kunis has been invited to be the belle of the Marine Corps Ball - a U.S. sergeant based in Afghanistan has asked the star to be his date in a video posted online.

Sergeant Scott Moore is currently stationed in Musa Qala, Afghanistan, and despite risking life and limb every day, the officer took time out to send a sweet message to Kunis via YouTube.com, inviting her to the annual event in November (11).

In the footage, the marine says, "Hey Mila, this is Sergeant Moore, but you can call me Scott. I just want to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on November 18 in Greenville, N.C., with yours truly."

And the brave soldier has urged the public to back him in his bid to win over the Forgetting Sarah Marshall beauty, adding, "Help me make it happen!"

Leave it do and officer to be a buzzkill. You know, Sir, it's amazing how it never fails that something so harmless like this Marine's video (which he probably never thought would get seen) can get turned into such a big deal. I'm not going to get started on the stick measuring contest with you, I too am a veteran OIF and OEF, but I will say it wouldn't kill you to be happy for this man. He got lucky with this and is now going to have a Marine Corps Ball date to remember. Are there other military members who deserve a treat like this? Absolutely, but the fact of the matter is not everyone gets it. But instead of making this Marine look like he's using his service to get his way, why don't you try and do what I and thousands of others have done and be happy for him.

Perhaps my cynicsm will get the best of me but....Please give me a break. "Oh, I deserve to go to the Marine Corps Ball with a beautiful celebrity just because I am doing the job that I volunteered to do." Then let me embarrass her into a response for fearing to appear anti military. As a proud Soldier first, a Commissioned Officer second, and one that has served two 13 month tours in Iraq - that is like four Marine Corps Tours - I have to say that the sense of entitlement and special treatment that military personnel and their family members feel that they deserve needs to stop. I was guilty of it too. After I was injured from a IED blast while on a dismounted patrol I came back to the states and felt everybody owed me everything. Then I was exposed to Soldiers that have lost a limb, and more, and they don't feel like anybody owes them a thing. It was refreshing. We volunteer and serve. We don't deserve special treatment from the civilian population. Frankly, it is embarrasing.

I agree. As a Marine I can say first hand that the Marine Corps Ball is a blast and she should go with him. And I also second the motion to address this man by his correct title. He is not a soldier, he is a Marine. God speed Sergeant, come home safe and hopefully to the best ball date a Marine could ever dream of.Semper Fi,Sgt von Hartmann S.P.

Go for it, Mila! The man is fighting for our country, afterall. And Marine Corps Balls are fun to go to! My only bone to pick with this article is that he shouldn't be called a soldier if he is in the Marines - he earned the title of Marine.Thank you, Sgt. Moore (and all the troops), for defending freedom!
