Universal Allows Any 2 Minutes Of Any Film To Be Downloaded

AnyClip.com, which allows users to view, download, and share up to two minutes of any scene of any movie available on its site, has signed a rights deal with Universal, its first with a major studio. Previously clips were available from only independent producers and some pay-TV outlets. The company wasted no time in touting The Deal and posting clips from several Universal movies on its homepage. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it's believed that AnyClip and Universal will share revenue produced via the site. (Each clip is accompanied by an ad for the home-video version of the movie, which can be rented and purchased online.) A search box allows users to search for a particular scene using dialogue or the name of an actor or director.
