Rockers Ultraista have cancelled a series of shows in North America so the group's drummer could fly home in time for the birth of his child.
The band, formed by famed Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, axed gigs in Chicago, Illinois, Toronto in Canada and Brooklyn, New York after Joey Waronker's wife, Lizzie, went into labour six weeks early.
Waronker's baby was born prematurely, but both mother and child are now said to be doing well.
A series of posts on the group's Twitter.com page reads, "Many many apologies to all of the folks who were coming to the shows that have been cancelled. Joey had to rush home to become a daddy!!!... All are doing well despite everything happening about 6 weeks early... We are so proud to have another little Waronker in our family!!!... We'll be back to reschedule shows etc once the dust has settled... Congrats (sic) Joey and Lizzy and baby!!! Love from all of us!!!"
The band was due to make an appearance on U.S. Tv show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on 29 January (13), but it is not yet known whether this will go ahead.
