U2'S Joy At Political Prisoner's Release

U2 are celebrating after political prisoner AUNG SAN SUU KYI was released from house arrest in Burma.

Suu Kyi, the leader of the National League for Democracy in Burma, had been detained for 15 of the past 21 years because of her political views.

The Irish rockers showed their support for the longtime social activist during their world tour last year (09), urging their fans to don face masks during their track Walk On, which they dedicated to Suu Kyi.

And they were overjoyed to learn she had finally been freed over the weekend (12-13Nov10).

A statement from the band reads, "There is a cautious joy amongst the campaigners for Aung San Suu Kyi's release. Over the years we have feared for her life, and until Burma's leadership better reflects its people, we should continue to be vigilant in our concern.

"Her struggle has become a symbol for all humanity, of what we are capable of - best and worst. Her very grace so infuriating to the bully government whose brutish gorging of the country's rich resources have left the people of Burma poor and hungry."

Dan Tobin     (3)

Hello: U2 should not be expressing any joy at the failures of the US,NATO,The Arab League and the Community of Civilized Nations to imprison Arab War Criminal "colonel" Muammar gaddaffi and The Entire Criminal Gaddaffi family of Sirte, Libya, culpable for the genocide of the Libyan National Population since 1969, and suppressing the freedoms of speech, the press, and right to peaceful assembly of Arab and neighboring African States, and ordering a hijacking and the bombing of Pan Am Flight#103, the 8th day of Hannakah in 1988, Lockerbie, Scotland, possibly with financial and logistical support from Iran and Syria. U2 should be expressing joy for my release of my all original 3 songcdsampler, Dan Tobin skippy11550@yahoo.com (516) 489-3989,to WHPC 90.3 FM, and re-release as "Rabbi Daniel Shalom, All Patriot, NO Act", and should be working on releasing me from the pain and suffering I have endured since my brother, a devoted u2 fan, Mark L.C. Tobin, was among the tens of thousands murdered by War Criminal "colonel" Muammar gaddaffi aboard Pan Am Flight#103, and should be working on getting my recordings fully produced and promoted, so I may perform again for thousands of people, since I have already done so for thousands in various churches, auditoria, coffeehouses, bars, and The DuFour Physical Fitness Center in N.E. Wash, D.C., 1987-1991. I do not like to sound cynical at all, but today's edition of The Wall Street Journal stated that San Suu Kyi's release has not been finalised, and her Democratic party colleagues were murdered, and that angry mobs appointed by the military there in Myanmar/Burma, are culpable for rigging the elections, so that her release is good news, but the future for peaceful protesters and democratic reforms of the junta there are not good at all. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to performing for you again, and promoting peace, freedom and democracy. Respectfully Yours, Dan Tobin
