U2 Switch Labels To Mercury
Media reports hint the move to Mercury may be prompted by its new president, JASON ILEY, whose team looked after the Beautiful Day stars at Island before he quit in May (06).
U2 ended their US contract with Island for similar reasons 10 years ago (96). They switched to Interscope in pursuit of new boss Jimmy Iovine after he jumped labels.
The Bono-fronted band has so far refused to comment on the management change.
The Greatest Hits Collection is due for release next month (NOV06).
