U2 And Green Day Recreate Abbey Road
The two bands were recording a song together for a Hurricane Katrina charity at Abbey Road Studios, and couldn't resist copying the 1969 album photograph in which the Fab Four walk across the zebra crossing outside.
Green Day's TRE COOL, MIKE DIRNT and BILLIE JOE walked in a single file from one end of the crossing while U2's Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr and Adam Clayton walked from the other end.
An onlooker says, "Normally it's tourists you see trying to copy The Beatles. Everyone took a second when they realised who it was."
