Actress HUNTER TYLO has filed a lawsuit against a social worker she blames for her son's death in 2007.
The Bold and the Beautiful star claims Shanna Downing, of the Horizon Family Therapy & Wellness centre in Nevada, advised her son, Michael, 19, to stop taking his seizure medication.
The teenager subsequently suffered a fit and drowned in a family pool in October, 2007.
Tylo alleges Downing told her Michael's seizures were "due to the stress he was experiencing due to his parents break-up," and "once the stress was eliminated... his seizures would disappear", according to the wrongful death lawsuit filed in a Las Vegas court on Friday (16Oct09).
The documents also state "the care, advice and treatment rendered... caused (Michael's) seizures to continue and lead to his untimely death."
The legal action is Tylo's second lawsuit against Downing and Horizon Family Therapy & Wellness - in 2008, she tried unsuccessfully to amend a previous lawsuit to include a wrongful death claim.
A sleekly made thriller with a sparky sense of humour, this is also a rare action movie that has something important to say.
