Odd Future - Tyler, The Creator Dismisses Lyrics Criticism
Odd Future star Tyler, The Creator has shrugged off criticism from gay rights groups over his explicit lyrics after he was labelled "irresponsible" for using "hateful language" in his songs.
The rapper came under fire from bosses at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad), who blasted the hip-hop star for his controversial rhymes, which often contain reams of expletives.
A statement from the organisation read, "Using hateful language, regardless of the context, is unacceptable and in fact, very serious. Tyler's attempts to be provocative as well as his indifference towards the consequences of his actions are irresponsible."
But Tyler is not bothered by the criticism and is adamant he won't change his ways.
He tells Mtv.com, "Well, I have gay fans and they don't really take it offensive (sic), so I don't know. If it offends you, it offends you. If you call me a n**ga, I really don't care, but that's just me, personally. Some people might take it the other way; I personally don't give a s**t."
