Tyler Perry Thanks Georgia Firefighters For Tackling Blaze At Film Studio
More than 100 firefighters were called to tackle the incident at the huge complex, which features a back lot, a 400-seat theatre, five sound stages and a gym.
The Madea's Family Reunion star kept his cool during the chaos, and now he's spoken out to pay tribute to the professionals who risked their lives to extinguish the flames.
He said, "God bless the city of Atlanta Fire Department, they did a fantastic job putting the fire out... Nobody got hurt."
Perry assures fans the size of the blaze wasn't as serious as initially expected as the film set was purposely designed to give the illusion of a massive city block.
He adds, "It wasn't that bad... But when they (the firefighters) got there they thought it was a 10-alarm fire because they saw a whole city block on fire. But they didn't know that they were the facades. It was a fake building, so they (the buildings) were only five-feet deep."
Investigators are yet to determine what caused the fire.
