Tv's Summer Doldrums Strike
It certainly looked as if summer had arrived last week as the two weekly editions of NBC's The Voice topped the ratings chart among total viewers and those 18-49. Among the younger demo, Fox's Hell's Kitchen and two editions of Masterchef also made the top ten. Landing on both lists was NBC's telecast of the tornado relief concert, Oklahoma Healing Heart on Wednesday night. After being preempted by tornado coverage on Monday, the nightly newscasts completed the week with little change from the previous week. NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams led again with 7.69 million viewers, followed by ABC World News with Diane Sawyer with 7.10 million and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley with 6.06 million. Among total households for the week, CBS remained in the lead with a 3.7 rating and a 6 share. NBC placed second with a 3.3/6, followed by ABC with a 2.8/5 and Fox with a 2.1/4.
