Christie Brinkley - Tv Writer Don Brinkley Dies At 91
DON BRINKLEY, the noted television writer and the stepfather of supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley, has died age 91. A spokesperson for Christie has said that her stepfather passed away on Saturday in New York, with age-related health problems at the root of the death.
The TV writer was at work for over 50 years, with his credits including Trapper John, M.D., and such popular 1950s and 1960s staples as Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Untouchables, Ben Casey, Rawhide, The Fugitive, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Medical Center.
He received numerous awards during his time as a writer and in 1988 was honoured by the Museum of Broadcasting in New York for his services to television. He also worked as a journalist for CBS Radio News as well as working as a writer.
The stepfather of supermodel Christie is survived by his second wife, Marge, and their two children; Christie, who was adopted as his own by Don, and Greg. He is also survived by his two children he had with his first wife Lois. He is also a grandfather, with his grandchildren including musician Alexa Ray Joel, who is the sole child of singer and songwriter BILLY JOEL.
