Actor DAVID MCCALLUM prepared for his role as a pathologist in TV show NCIS, but cutting up real dead bodies.
The Scottish Man Fom U.N.C.L.E star insisted on learning how to perform actual autopsies before portraying medical examiner Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard in the hit show.
He reveals, "I've actually performed four autopsies. You can't talk about aortic stenosis unless you know what it is and what a failed heart valve looks like.
"At first I went and watched the autopsies through the glass window.
"Then I went to specific autopsies to find out why a particular person died and talked to the coroner about it. Then, I decided it was time to do an autopsy with a pathologist."
The pair recently enjoyed their first visit to the interactive experience in New York.
