Tv Bosses Eyeing Barton's Replacement
TV bosses are reportedly casting a new female character for THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE - in case they need to write Mischa Barton out of the script.
The 23 year old, who was set to play a supermodel in the new series, was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold on Thursday (16Jul09), after reportedly suffering a meltdown and calling cops to her Los Angeles home the previous day.
Executives at U.S. network The CW are said to have refused to halt production to wait for Barton's release - and are even making plans to fill her place.
Producers will not recast her catwalk queen role Sonja Stone but are instead creating a new character called Jane, who would bear a striking resemblance to Barton, reports EntertainmentWeekly.com.
Production is now scheduled to start at the end of July (09).
