Tulisa Contostavlos Picks Up Mind Media Award
The N-Dubz star was handed the Documentary Award for her programme Tulisa: My Mum and Me at the ceremony on Monday night (28Nov11) at London's British Film Institute.
The documentary showed the singer taking care of her mother, who suffers from schizoaffective disorder.
Contostavlos says, "Mental health issues are something that's very close to my heart. Winning a Mind Media Award means so much to me, I'm blown away. It's something that affects so many people and their families. I wanted My Mum and Me to show that no one should be ashamed to speak out about mental health issues."
Other winners on the night included British TV show Casualty, which won the Best Drama trophy, while prison radio station Radio Wanno's Interview with Stephen Fry won the Chairman's Special Award.
The prizegiving is held by mental health charity Mind.
