Donald Trump - Trump Wants To Run New York Carousel
Tycoon-turned-reality TV star DONALD TRUMP is poised to finalise a deal giving him full reign over New York City's most famous carousel.
The Apprentice mogul rescued the beloved merry-go-round in Central Park last March (10) after city officials ended their deal with the prior operator.
Trump has since been paying $7,500 (£5,000) a month to maintain the ride, which is enjoyed by approximately 250,000 visitors a year at $2 (£1.30) apiece.
The new 10-year contract will see Trump's payments increase from $250,000 to $325,000 (£167,000 to £217,000) over the life of the agreement, according to the New York Post.
A public hearing on Trump's new contract is scheduled for 7 March (11).
It's Trump's latest bid to take over Manhattan - his firm operates Central Park's Wollman and Lasker skating rinks and he's also in talks to revive the struggling Tavern-on-the-Green restaurant.
