True Blood Renewed For Sixth Season!
Hit vampire drama True Blood is set to return for a sixth series after U.S. cable network Hbo confirmed it was renewing the show.
The network would not reveal when the new series of the award-winning series would return to air or whether any storyline changes would emerge, and thus far the only word on the street is that the show will eventually return to our screens, probably by late 2012 early 2013. The show, which stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard, follows a group of vampires who live among humans in the fictional Louisianan town of Bon Temps. Paquin and Moyer, who play lovers Sookie Stackhouse and vampire Bill Compton, married in real-life in 2010 and are expecting their first child together.
Hbo's latest drama hit, the Aaron Sorkin masterminded The Newsroom, will also be renewed for a second season after proving popular enough among audiences. Although only receiving mixed reviews from critics, it has found a cult audience since airing in the States earlier this year. It is yet to air in the UK, with Sky Atlantic set to premiere the first episode on July 10th 2012. The show stars Jeff Daniels as a Howard Beale type TV anchorman who, along with his producer ex-girlfriend (Emily Mortimer), tries to shake up his nightly show and bring back blood and guts journalism.
