True Blood Finale Sees Suprising Deaths
Last week, Joe Manganiello who plays 'Alcide' in the show, told MTV News, "I can tell you that there's going to be a lot of blood, a lot of sex, and a lot of people are going to die", and the actor was not wrong - the season finale saw a number of surprising deaths, with Compton at the centre of everything. The show's creator, Alan Ball, recorded a video that was aired on HBO after the final episode. In the short clip, Ball 'thanked' the show's dedicated viewers, whilst also promising a "really big, exciting, fun, crazy, unexpected ride", for season four.
True Blood is based on 'The Southern Vampire Mysteries' series of novels by CHARLAINE HARRIS, which details the co-existence of vampires and humans in a fictional US town. The show first premiered in September 2008, and was immediately critically acclaimed, winning several awards including a Golden Globe. True Blood season 2 hit screens in June 2009, and season 3 followed in June 2010.
