Tricky - Tricky Brands Damon Albarn Pretentious

British musician Tricky has launched a broadside at Blur rocker Damon Albarn, branding him "pretentious" and "not real".

The former Massive Attack star teamed up with Albarn for a song on 1996 Tricky album Nearly God, but it was removed from the tracklisting just weeks before the record's release.

The star - real name Adrian Thaws - explained the decision by stating he was not a fan of Albarn's slow method of working in the studio, but now he has spoken out to slam the Parklife singer for a comment he made during a visit to a rundown part of Leeds, England.

Tricky tells Mojo magazine, "We were walking through Leeds and it was just f**ked and I said, 'Look, these kids ain't got f**k all (sic). And he goes, 'They got us'. And that was the end of my relationship with him.

"What do you mean, 'They got us'? A pretentious comment says to me that you're not real, and when you're not real I can't waste my time on you."
