Trash City Attractions Unveiled For Glastonbury 2009

For the third year running, Trash City will take over a whole field at the legendary Somerset festival with a unique blend of interactive art, music, burlesque, theatre, disco and downright mayhem.

Musical line-ups and special guests for the 2009 serving of Trash City at Glastonbury are yet to be announced but some of the most exciting offerings of the whole festival can be found in the Tipi fields, it has been revealed.

Art collective the Mutoid Waste Co have created innovative sculptures across the globe since the 80s and this year is no exception, with Trash City set to feature The Juke Joint, a giant interactive pinball table-cum-music venue.

In the attraction, the audience, as the pinball, gets catapulted through a series of incredible worlds, culminating in a giant light-up score board which reveals a four-piece robot band and chorus line of 30ft animatronic puppets when the score hits its highest peak

Interactive venues for Trash City 2009 include:The Dragstrip - Part towering Aztec temple, part biker bar, inspired by Quentin Tarantino's Dusk Til Dawn, showcasing the hottest bands and DJs from the UK Underground, plus sizzling burlesque performances and a nightly aerial Vampire show. Hosted by Notorious 'delinquent showgirl' Ruby Blues.

The NYC Downlow - The world's first travelling gay disco, a note-perfect replica of a bombed-out New York tenement populated by outrageous Drag Queens and muscle-bound hunks. Voted Best Venue Of 2007 by the NME!

You Me Bum Bum Train - Acclaimed live art/theatre group, will be high-jacking a real-life plane crash and taking the audience for a wild ride through a random array of weird and wonderful worlds, for the ultimate Alice In Wonderland experience!

Rubbish Fairy's House of Doll - Technicolour den of disorder presenting a multi-media extravaganza of art, music and performance.
