Transformers Resumes Filming
Filming on the new TRANSFORMERS movie has resumed in Washington, D.C. amid heightened safety measures following an on-set car crash on Monday (11Oct10).
Shooting on the third installment in the robot franchise, starring Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, was brought to a halt after a police vehicle smashed into the film's iconic yellow 'Bumblebee' car.
The cop, who was driving through the set to investigate a bomb scare, was admitted to hospital suffering from minor injuries and the crash forced the production to shut down while safety procedures were reviewed, according to Myfoxdc.com.
Movie bosses were given the green light to start filming again on Tuesday (12Oct10) and producers are reportedly writing the accident into the script.
A statement from the city's Metropolitan Police Department, reads, "Following a review of safety procedures, the filming of Transformers 3 will resume this evening with enhanced public safety measures."
The news comes as producers behind the sci-fi sequel were cleared of any wrong-doing following a horrific accident on the set last month (Sep10), in which an extra's skull was sliced open by a snapped cable.
Safety regulators in Indiana ruled all the necessary precautions were taken prior to the tragedy.
