Osama Bin Laden - Trailer For Osama Bin Laden Zombie Movie Hits The Web
With its genre-referencing tagline "The Axis of Evil Dead," Osombie has its tongue firmly within its rotting cheek. A trailer for the film, uploaded two days ago onto YouTube (February 7, 2012) begins with the following Warning: "Viewer Discretion: The Following Contains Scenes of Zombie Violence and Gore and Muscular Men with Their Shirts Off."
What follows from there is the news that Osama Bin Laden is back. As a zombie. It appears that a gang of intrepid soldiers are trying to prevent Afghanistan from falling prey to a 'zombie apocalypse.' Set in the harsh terrain of the Middle East, the violence appears gratuitous and comical, parodying a cinematic history of zombie films and war films all at once. Osombie is directed by John Lyde, previously responsible for the slightly-less-gory You're So Cupid and stars Corey Sevier, Eve Mauro and Danille Chuchran.
It's not the first time that the zombie genre has been parodied, either. Most famously, Simon Pegg's Shaun of the Dead was billed as a zom-com when it was released in 2004 and as far back as 1985, The Return of the Living Dead poked fun at the zombie genre. Plans are already underway for a 2013 release of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, based on the literary fusion created by Seth Grahame-Smith.
