Tracy Morgan Stuns Crowd With Homophobic Rant
Morgan, an Emmy Award nominated actor, allegedly told the sold-out crowd, "Gays need to quit being pussies and not be whining about something as insignificant as bullying". He later suggested that being homosexual was something kids "learn from the media and programming", and suggested he would stab his own son if he ever talked to him "in a gay voice". It was reported that several audience members walked out of the screening following the remarks. The venue has since issued a statement apologising to those offended by Morgan's routine, saying, "The Ryman Auditorium regrets that people were offended by statements made by Tracy Morgan during his June 3 appearance. The Ryman does not control the content presented by people appearing on its stage, nor does it endorse any of the views of, or statements made by, such persons".
In January 2011, Tracy Morgan hit the headlines after appearing in the pre-game coverage of the Miami Heat and New York Knicks Nba game. Commentators Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith asked the 30 Rock star to choose between Sarah Palin and Tina Fey on who he thought was better looking. Morgan responded with a derogatory remark about Palin, which led network Tnt to apologize for the comments on live television.
