Tori Amos Chooses Music
'Cornflake Girl' singer Tori Amos has admitted her relationship with her nine-year-old daughter Natashya has suffered because of her career.
Tori Amos has admitted to sacrificing her daughter for her music.
The 'Cornflake Girl' singer - real name Myra Ellen Amos - said her relationship with nine-year-old daughter Natashya has suffered as a result of her career.
Tori said: "I still get a real kick of guilt when I'm on tour and can't be the kind of mother who's there putting her to bed each night.
"She's a great cheerleader, through: she gives me pep talks."
Despite her reservations about her job, Tori does enjoy some aspects of fame.
She added: "The 'if anyone else likes my music, it's a bonus' line is b******t. If I was writing songs just for me I'd only play them in my living room, alone."
The singer also claimed her husband kept her going, telling the Guardian newspaper: "I'm 46 and I have a husband who still wants me every day. That's pretty great, right?"
However, she said she had problems with her career in the 90s because of her age.
She explained to The Guardian newspaper: "I felt sidelined by the industry, by the preoccupation with finding something newer, younger."
