Tom Morello - Tom Morello Shoots Down Fans' Request For New Rage Against The Machine Music
Rocker Tom Morello has dashed fans' hopes of a new Rage Against The Machine album, insisting there are still no plans to work on new material following the band's reunion in 2007.
The Killing in the Name Of hitmakers have not released a new studio project since Renegades, which hit retailers in 2000 - the same year they disbanded, and although the foursome have since reformed to play a number of shows, Morello claims devotees should not hold out for any fresh music.
The guitarist was quizzed about the topic during a question and answer session on Twitter.com on Wednesday (06Feb13), and when one follower begged Morello to head back into the recording booth with his bandmates, he simply responded, "'fraid not".
He then added, "Appreciate the enthusiasm but 'no new rage album' is kinda like 'not seeing a unicorn'. It's not exactly News."
Instead, Morello revealed that he was working on new tracks as his alter-ego, the Nightwatchman.
But there are tentative plans for Ratm to tour - Black Sabbath star Geezer Butler has revealed that Brad Wilk might not be able to tour with the reformed hard rockers due to prior commitments he has with his other band.
