Tom Hiddleston - Tom Hiddleston: 'Avengers Jumps Off The Platform'
Tom Hiddleston thinks director Joss Whedon has ''jumped off the platform'' with the characters in 'The Avengers'
Tom Hiddleston says Joss Whedon has "jumped off the platform" with new movie 'The Avengers'.
The 30-year-old actor - who plays his 'Thor' character Loki in the film - says that director Joss Whedon has taken each of the characters to the next level in new action the picture, which sees a team of super-humans help save the Earth from extraterrestrial invaders.
Speaking at the UK premiere of 'The Deep Blue Sea' at the 55th BFI London Film Festival last night [27.10.2011], he told BANG Showbiz: "I think they have to [relate back to his character in Thor], in many respects because Tony Stark was born within the 'Iron Man' film, and Captain America was born within his own film and The Hulk has his own films . so I think Joss Whedon has dived off the platform, because each character in the film has been given a platform where audiences know who they are and Joss has taken each character further down the line."
Tom was joined on the closing night of the festival by his girlfriend Susanne, director of 'The Deep Blue Sea' Terence Davies, and Jim Broadbent - who plays Professor Slughorn in the 'Harry Potter' films.
'The Avengers' is due to hit big screens in 2012, and 'The Deep Blue Sea' comes out in cinemas on November 25th.
