Tom Hardy: 'Bane Is Not Like The Joker'
Tom Hardy believes his 'Dark Knight Rises' character Bane is a ''very clean, clear villain''.
The British actor - who stars alongside Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and Sir Michael Caine in the third and final Christopher Nolan-directed Batman film - claims his character is not similar to well-known enemy of the caped crusader The Joker because Bane is too ''meticulous and calculated''.
He told Entertainment Weekly: ''The Joker didn't care. He just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and Destruction, unscrupulous and crazy. Bane is not that guy. There is a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane.
''There is a huge orchestration of organisation to his ambition. He is also a physical threat to Batman. There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes, he's a very clean, clear villain.''
Tom also addressed concerns raised after the trailer was released when it was claimed fans could not hear what Bane was saying.
He added: ''The audience mustn't be too concerned about the mumbly voice. As the film progresses, I think you'll be able to tune to its setting.''
'The Dark Knight Rises' is due to be released in July.
