Tom Cruise may have settled his divorce from Katie Holmes, though friends of the couple will inevitably be taking sides in the coming weeks. For years, Cruise, Katie, David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham have enjoyed a close friendship, having been photographed together countless times, though where does the divorce leave the Hollywood star and his soccer supremo friend?

There may be a conflict of interests here, as, according to Now magazine, Victoria has already chosen sides. Katie Holmes reportedly confided in Victoria before taking the decision to end her five years marriage. A source revealed, "Victoria's been a real tower of strength.Katie's seen how a normal marriage should function by being around Victoria and David Beckham, so she knew that something was wrong with her relationship with Tom". Victoria has reportedly tried to avoid taking sides, though was forced to help her friend in her hour of need. The British couple were in Rome for the wedding of Tom and Katie in 2006, though Beckham was unable to attend the actual ceremony given his soccer commitments at the time. When David signed for the Los Angeles Galaxy, it was widely reported that the couple bought a home just five minutes away from Tom and Katie - Victoria was even photographed giving her new friends a tour of the new home. Since then, Tom and David have often been snapped with their children at basketball games in Los Angeles.

Former Dawson's Creek star Katie reportedly "blindsided" her husband by filing for divorce and asking for sole custody of daughter Suri, 6.
