Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes Settle Divorce: But Who Gets Suri?
The statement read, "The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life". Interestingly, Wolfe thanked Tom Cruise and his attorney for their "professionalism and diligence" that helped bring about the speedy resolution. Fans of both stars will be eager to establish the details of the deal, though there has been no immediate release of the finer points of the agreement. In a joint statement, Holmes and Cruise spoke about focusing on protecting their daughter Suri, 6, saying, "We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents". Sources close to both sides say that Cruise, 50, and Holmes, 33, were working tirelessly on an arrangement in which Suri lives in New York City with her mother, and her father is given generous visitation rights, however, it is not clear whether this arrangement was agreed upon.
Holmes and Suri recently moved into a 3-bedroom apartment in New York City, with the pair being spotted happily strolling around Manhattan since the shock split. Meanwhile, Cruise has been in Los Angeles with his teenage children Connor, 17, and Bella, 19.
