The original Hairspray star admits she learned a lot about herself and the type of men she liked during one desperate moment while searching for the perfect guy.

Newlywed Lake admits she was in a relationship at the time, but wasn't happy.

She says, "When you take (sleeping pill) Ambien and you stay up on it you have selective memory... I was on Ambien and I was bored and I signed up to eHarmony.com.

"It's like a two-hour process and suddenly I find out that The Kite Runner is my favourite book and I'm looking for a man who can take care of himself."

Lake admits she no longer pops Ambien but she does need help with her insomnia and has turned to her pharmacist dad for help.

She adds, "Sleeping is an issue for me... It's hard to turn it off."
