Tim Mcgraw Wins Court Battle Against Label Bosses
The singer took Curb Records executives to court in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday (30Nov11) and won a ruling that allows him to record new material while he fights to free himself from a contract he claims he has honoured.
Chancellor Russell Perkins also declared MCGraw free to sign with another record label.
Curb Records bosses sought to prevent him from recording or signing with another company until he fulfilled what Curb believed was his obligation for a fifth album.
MCGraw is accused of breach of contract and that trial is scheduled for July (12).
The singer, who was in court with his wife Faith Hill, has been under contract with Curb since 1997.
