Tim Mcgraw Ends Music Deadlock With Christmas Single

Tim Mcgraw's first release since severing ties with his former record label in court will be a Christmas single.

The singer has been restricted from recording or releasing new music during the legal battle with music executives, but a judge in Tennessee lifted the ban last week (ends02Dec11) and MCGraw is already planning his next chart attack.

He will release Christmas All Over the World this week (beg05Dec11) and will follow it up with another new single in early 2012.

MCGraw isn't quite free of his legal wrangles with Curb Records bosses - they are suing him for breach of contract and that case is scheduled to go to trial in July (12).

The country star maintains he delivered a final album to the record bosses, but they delayed releasing it. Immediately following Wednesday's (30Nov11) court ruling in MCGraw's favour, Curb executives released Better Than I Used to Be, a track from the album, which will now reportedly be released in January (12).

Announcing the news of the release of his Christmas single and long-awaited album, MCGraw says, "I fought very hard for the release of Emotional Traffic. It's an album full of music of which I am very proud. It's extremely unfortunate that it wasn't released earlier this year in conjunction with the Emotional Traffic tour, but all I want to do now is focus on the positive and look to the future.

"I'm really excited about the new music I'm recording. Next week, I'm putting out a holiday song I've just recorded called Christmas All Over the World. After the first of the year, I'll have a brand new single which I can hardly wait to share with everyone. I am so appreciative of the support I've received over the years, and I'm looking forward to this next chapter of my career."
