Tila Tequila Agrees To Rehab Stint Following Suicide Attempt
Tila Tequila has reportedly agreed to go into rehab after a distressing week which saw the star attempt to take her own life. Tequila has been in the public spotlight since she was just 18 having been discovered by a Playboy scout whilst out at a shopping mall, going on to be their Cyber Girl in April of 2002 and finding herself offered a host of other modelling opportunities as a result.
She ventured into reality television in 2007 with the show 'A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila' which saw 16 straight men and 16 lesbian women compete for the model's affections with the twist being that neither camp were aware of her bisexuality. She has also expanded into both music and online ventures in the past couple of years.
However her personal life has been far from easy; a former boyfriend, Shawne Merriman, allegedly choked her in 2009, later being arrested only to be released without charge. Worse was to follow in 2010 when she became engaged to heiress Casey Johnson, being photographed with a diamond ring on. Tragedy struck though when Johnson, a Type 1 diabetes sufferer, was found dead in February 2010 owing to complications linked to the illness. Tequila was rushed to hospital last week after her roommate called 911, saying that she'd been trying to kill herself all week. Tmz believe that the star has been suffering from serious abuse problems as well as psychiatric issues.
