Three Networks Tie In Ratings Race
As the broadcast TV networks transitioned to summer schedules, ABC, NBC and Fox ended up in a dead heat for first place, while CBS came in close behind among the key 18-49 age group. Among total adults, ABC led, followed closely by CBS. NBC placed third, while Fox trailed. The most-watched program of the week was the Tuesday results show of Dancing with the Stars, which captured 15.2 million viewers, followed by the performance episode show on Monday with 15.0 million viewers. Among the 18-49 demo, the top-rated show was ABC's Modern Family, followed by Monday's edition of NBC's The Voice. Ratings for the evening newscasts got a boost from coverage of the Oklahoma twister. NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams attracted an average of 8.04 million viewers during the week, followed by ABC World News with Diane Sawyer with 7.35 million viewers and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley with 6.01 million viewers.
