Three Festival Fans Die In Car Crash
According to police, the vehicle was carrying six people in their late teens and early twenties when it left the M25 motorway and overturned after hitting a ditch.
The three people who died were thrown from the vehicle, and it took a rescue crew an hour to cut the injured female driver free. Two other passengers were treated for minor injuries.
Attending ambulance serviceman STEVE BRANT says, "I would pay tribute to the crews who worked extremely well under very stressful circumstances. Our thoughts are with the families of the young people who died this morning."
More than 100,000 fans watched a stellar line-up featuring Radiohead, Morrissey, Beck, Kasabian and Fatboy Slim at the Essex festival which took place on Saturday (19AUG06) and Sunday (20AUG06).
