Radiohead - Thom Yorke Painting Up For Auction

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has put one of his original paintings up for auction to raise money for charity.

The British rocker created the piece, titled Business School For The Dead, in 2005 with his artist pal Stanley Donwood, who has produced all the album art and promotional materials for Radiohead since the release of their 1995 album The Bends.

The painting, depicting two skeletons down on their knees and angels with bows and arrows, is expected to fetch as much as $6,200 (£4,000) for the Trade Justice Movement, a campaign group fighting for changes to the rules of world trade.

Yorke's original painting will go under the hammer at the Bonhams Entertainment Memorabilia event in London on 3 July (13), alongside an acoustic guitar once owned by Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, and a lock of Sir Mick Jagger's hair, which was saved by a relative of his former girlfriend, Jean Shrimpton, during the 1960s.

In a post on his page about the sale, Yorke writes, "Hope someone in the financial industry buys this, what a novelty to have a painting at auction ha!"
