Adam Ant - Thieves Steal Adam Ant's Hat

Pop star Adam Ant was thrown into a panic on Thursday (15Nov12) when thieves stole his $16,000 (£10,000) hat after a gig.

The '80s star performed a show at a venue in Liverpool, England and left his flamboyant stage costume in his dressing room while he joined his band for a post-concert drink.

When he returned backstage he was horrified to discover his eye-catching sailor-style headwear was missing, and his entourage launched a desperate search for the hat.

It was eventually discovered dumped outside the venue two hours later after security staff chased off a gang of youths loitering around the Prince Charming hitmaker's tour bus.

A source says, "There was a massive panic in the dressing room when we realised it wasn't where he'd left it. That hat has been captured by some of the world's most famous photographers, and has travelled the world on Adam's head. I have no idea how we'd have got another one if that hat hadn't been found."

The headwear was designed by famed milliner Mich Dulce, and only two have ever been produced.
