Barbra Streisand - Theatre Bosses Struggling To Find Perfect Funny Girl

Theatre bosses have taken to the Internet in a bid to find the perfect star to follow in the footsteps of Barbra Streisand for an upcoming revival of hit musical Funny Girl.
Producers are preparing to breathe life back into the hit 1964 stage show, which ran for three years on Broadway and originally starred Streisand as Fanny Brice - a role she reprised the role for the 1968 film adaptation, which won her a Best Actress Oscar.
Director Bartlett Sher plans to stage a new production in Los Angeles in the New Year (12) before taking it to Broadway, but he admits he is struggling to fill the lead female role.
Glee star Lea Michele has previously been linked to the production after producer Bob Boyett admitted she was high on his list of contenders, but Sher suggests the actress is no longer in the running.
He tells the New York Times, "This is the hardest part I've ever had to cast."
And Sher has now invited acting wannabes between the ages of 21 and 35 to submit their applications online.
An internet advertisement reads, "The woman who will play Fanny Brice must have an unforgettably thrilling voice with a big range... and great comic skill, masking deep insecurity and pain. She is a once-in-a-generation talent, and must have excellent comedic timing."

Why not tell the truth Lea Michele is not in the running now becasue her schedule will not allow it. Why leave that part out? She was talked to but she is contracted to do glee and can't.
