The Voice Again Lifts Nbc
Thanks in large measure to the continued ratings rise of The Voice, NBC was the only broadcast network to post higher ratings last week than it did during the comparable week a year ago. CBS, although remaining the leader among both total adults and the key 18-49 age group, nevertheless was down 13 percent from a year ago among total viewers and 7 percent among the 18-49 set. Once again, CBS's NCIS regained the top spot among all adults with 17.6 million tuning in. The network's Big Bang Theory, with 16.3 million viewers, was No. 2 among total viewers but No. 1 among those 18-49. NBC's The Voice placed seventh with its Monday installment and ninth for its Tuesday results show among all adults but the two episodes landed in second and third place among the 18-49 demo. Among the nightly news programs, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams remained dominant with 8.2 million viewers. ABC World News with Diane Sawyer remained the runner-up with 7.5 million, while the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley challenged with 6.4 million For the week overall, CBS held on to first place with an average 5.9 rating and a 10 share. ABC was second with a 4.7/8. NBC moved into third place with a 3.7/6, edging out Fox with a 3.4/6.
