The Xx - The Xx Give Fans Early Stream Of New Album
The Xx are giving fans the opportunity to listen to their new album, Coexist nearly a week before it's full release, reports the Nme.
The London band follow up their hugely successful, award winning self-titled LP with, Coexist, out September 10th. The album will be available to stream on Npr.org in full, which will surely excite fans of the band. This weekend will see the band play Bestival on the Isle of White, before they embark on a trio of UK gigs at the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire, The Coal Exchange in Cardiff and Edinburgh's Usher Hall on the 10th, 11th and 12th of September respectively. The album is anticipated to further cement The XX as one of the most important British indie bands of the decade. Their lo-fi style won many critics, garnering huge praise from the critics, culminating in a Mercury Music prize for their debut LP.
In a bid to expand their musical style, the band has recently admitted a desire to collaborate with Beyonce. Oliver Sim, vocalist in the band, has written a song for the star, and recently went out for a bite to eat with her; "We all went for dinner. There may have been a husband of hers there. I always had a lot of things I wanted to say to her and I completely choked. Beyonce is very special. I think the super-pop thing that supposedly died with Michael Jackson is still there, with her. I saw her at Glastonbury and I may have shed a tear," he explained to Q magazine.
