The Weeknd Debuts New Song At Toronto Concert [Video]

Up-and-coming R&B star The Weeknd played a brand new track called 'You Belong To The World' (at least, we think that's what it's called) for the first time, whilst playing a concert at Toronto's Mod Club. The Toronto-native first achieved acclaim with his trilogy of free mixtapes; House of Balloons, Echoes of Silence and Thursday, back in 2011 and has been touring regular since then.

In terms of new material, the singer has been uncharacteristically quiet recently, having not released any new material since he finished his trilogy of mixtapes at the tail end of 2011. This will all change however when his first, proper album hits stores later this year - a follow-up to Trilogy, a remastered release of his three mixtapes. Titled Kiss Land, the album is expected to be released later this year and despite the truly appalling title, the news that a follow-up to the well-loved Trilogy has already sent wave across the internet.

As well as 'You Belong To The World,' the 23-year-old singer, real name Abel Tesfaye, has also performed the titular track from his upcoming sophomore album, with both track exuding the same luscious blend of modern R&B with an electronic undertone. The song available in the video is particularly interesting because it seems to sample the drum beat from Portishead's 'Machine Gun,' not that Tesfaye needed to endure himself to indie audiences anymore.

There has been no specific word as to when Kiss Land will be released, but expect it to be made available before 2013 is over. In the meantime, and if you have $200 spare, you can buy a special vinyl edition of Trilogy right now, unless you'd rather get all three albums for free that is.
