The Voice Recap: Aguilera's Nemesis Tony Lucca In Final Four
The Voice whittled down its competitors to just four on Tuesday's results show (May 1, 2012), with Juliet Simms the only remaining female left in the singing contest. The show featured four of last year's finalists - Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez, Beverly MCClellan and winner JAVIER COLON - performing alongside Cee-lo Green, Cyndi Lauper and Kid Cudi.
Despite the guest performances, the semi-finalists probably had more important things to worry about - most notably, the impending eliminations. First up to hear which one of her acts was going home was Christina Aguilera, who told Chris Mann and Lindsey Pavao, "I had to make a lot of decisions so far.I really wanted to let America have the opportunity and be the deciding factor in this case". Host Carson Daly eventually announced that Mann had made it through, leaving a teary Pavao to thank her coach and leave the show. Adam Levine's results were made more interesting given the fact that his singer Tony Lucca had a huge spat with Aguilera on Monday's show. He called his relationship with Lucca a "bromance" and the American public duly sent the singer into next week's final. On Monday's show, Lucca claimed Aguilera had taken an indirect swipe at him by telling Levine to "look at" his other singer Katrina Parker because "she's a star". Speaking to People magazine after the show, Lucca was dumfounded with Aguilera's criticism, saying, "I was just scratching my head like: 'Really, you have to keep going on with this?"
Making up next week's final will be Paul Willet from Blake Shelton's team and Juliet Simms from Cee-lo Green's camp.
