"I'm not cut out for the hi-tech age. I don't email, I use a Walkman and my preferred mode of transport is by foot." British singer Florence Welch is old-fashioned at heart.

10 Things To Know About Blake Lively's 'Vogue' Cover Interview 4292147 News

Blake Lively is a wife to heartthrob Ryan Reynolds, the idol of many of Gossip Girl obsessed teenage (and older) girl, and a future internet entrepreneur. She's certainly got a lot going for her but we know very little about the 26-year-old actress. So here's what we've learned from her interview with Vogue, the August cover of which she is currently gracing.

This is the third time the former Gossip Girl actress has appeared on the cover of Vogue but there's still plenty to learn about her. So, if you don't feel inclined to read the whole interview, here are ten things you need to know:

10. Senior Citizens

Ryan Reynolds thinks Lively only makes friends with old age pensioners. She's close friends with Ivanka Trump and Ellen Burstyn, greatly admires and lives near Martha Stewart, and has recently met Jane Fonda. Apparently when Lively told her husband she had made friends with Fonda, he said "You only make friends with senior citizens!'

9. Preserve

Lively has spent the past two years working on a website called Preserve, which is about to launch. Yes, it does sound a little like Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP but will focus more on people around the US who are making things - food, clothes, furniture, etc. - in a traditional crafty way.

Blake Lively
Lively discussed her influences and loves in a recent interview.

8. Humour

She's so deadpan people often mistake her sense of humour for her being "a jerk". Apparently her friends have to laugh loudly whenever she says amusing something to a stranger in order to emphasise how Lively is genuinely being good humoured.

7. Food

Lively is always hungry and absolutely loves food. Strangely enough, it's difficult to hate her for constantly eating - in a Vogue interview last year she revealed she eats chocolate everyday - and still managing to maintain her model like figure. Of food, Lively said "food to me is love. When the whole family comes together, my mom makes a big meal, usually a family dish that was passed down."

6. The South

Lively loves the South almost as much as she loves food. Although the Green Lantern actress grew up in Los Angeles and is the daughter of an actor, she loves the Southern states as her mother grew up in Georgia. She also claims her love of food comes from her Southern origins as well as her love of all things rustic.

5. Gossip Girl

The last season of Gossip Girl in 2012 was so exhausting, Lively took a year off afterwards. As she explained in the interview, she was working constantly and her life existed in the short gaps between takes. She said, "I just needed time to regenerate. And when you're working fifteen-hour days, ten months a year, the only time you have for real life is between takes. So you're not really acting anymore. You're reciting."

4. Her Wedding & Martha Stewart

Lively and Reynold's wedding in 2012 was going to be a "disaster" before Martha Stewart stepped in and took over. Lively cites Stewart as one of her inspirations and described her as "generous and kind". She explained how "Our wedding was becoming a disaster, and we didn't know what to do, so we called Martha! She said, 'Don't worry. I'll handle it.'"

3. Prostitutes

Since appearing in 2010's The Town and then in 2012's Savages, Lively has been type cast in possibly the most bizarre and opposite role - a prostitute! Lively said "You do a movie [The Town] to change the way people think about you, and then they never see you any other way. It didn't help matters that I followed it up with Savages and another sexually charged, drug-addled young woman."

2. Ryan Reynolds

She's looking forward to kids with Ryan Reynolds. She's definitely thinking about the 37-year-old in the long term and has faith in his ability as a future father. Lively said, "He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch-he's so meant to be all of those things. The fact that he lived so much before we got together, he's the exact realized person that he should be."

1. Her Wedding Dress

Apparently during Florence Welch's performance at her wedding, sparklers were used for dramatic effect and her dress was badly burnt. But Reynolds took an optimistic approach, explaining to his new wife, "'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved.'" She added "Now that's my favourite part of the dress."

Miley Cyrus tops Best and Worst Dressed lists 3982373 News

Miley Cyrus is among both the Best Dressed and Worst Dressed stars of 2013, according to TIME magazine.

The controversial singer has once again polarised opinions thanks to her daring dress sense by taking the crown for Worst Dressed celebrity and making the top ten in the publication's annual Best Dressed list.

The 'We Can't Stop' hitmaker's tackiest sartorial moment came during her infamous August appearance at the MTV VMAs, where she wore nude-coloured latex underwear and scraped her hair back into childlike buns.

However, Miley redeemed herself with her elegant ensemble at the FGI's 30th Annual Night Of Stars Gala in a sparkly floor-length gown by Marc Jacobs.

TIME magazine justified the 21-year-old star's rankings by writing: ''Miley's schizophrenic fashion this year has landed her on both our best and worst dressed lists ... After a summer spent shocking America with increasingly provocative getups - she told MTV that her ultimate look was a mix of 'white trash and Chanel'- the former Hannah Montana did an about-face with this Marc Jacobs gown for Fashion Group International's Night of Stars.

''The glittery green dress with a daringly low back is just the right mix of youthfulness and sparkle for the pop star. No furry animals, no crazy hemlines, no tongue wagging; here, Miley is dazzling and, dare we say, elegant.''

It comes as no surprise that actress-of-the-moment Jennifer Lawrence was crowned the best dressed star of 2013 for the pale pink princess Dior gown she donned to the Oscars, while Britain's Duchess of Cambridge came second for her elegant pregnancy style, in particular the pale blue Emilia Wickstead dress she wore during a visit to the National Portrait Gallery.

Meanwhile Kim Kardashian was hot on Miley's heels in her ''curtain''-inspired Met Ball gown by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, and Anne Hathaway's pink nipple-enhancing Prada gown at the Oscars earned her the third spot on the Worst Dressed list.

TIME's Top 10 Best Dressed stars are:

1. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

2. Kate Middleton in Emilia Wickstead

3. Rihanna in Azzedine Alaïa

4. Jane Fonda in Atelier Versace

5. Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen

6. Miley Cyrus in Marc Jacobs

7. Mariah Carey's sling bling

8. Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace

9. Channing Tatum in Gucci

10. Solange Knowles in Michael Kors

TIME's Top 10 Worst Dressed stars are:

1. Miley Cyrus in nude latex bikini

2. Kim Kardashian in Givenchy

3. Anne Hathaway in Prada

4. Z LaLa in silver star concoction

5. Justin Bieber in gas mask

Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, was in a partying mood last Friday night (July 19, 2013) - that's for sure.

The singer was in attendance for band Sourberry's set at South London Pacific when she hopped up on-stage with her Tequila shot during the soundcheck and gave a...wobbly...performance of Daft Punk's summer hit single 'Get Lucky.'

Covers band Sourberry wrote: "It was the annual Sourberry summer party and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine was in attendance. She hopped up on stage during our sound check and rocked out a couple of numbers with us while we warmed up. 'Get Lucky' - Daft Punk and 'Standing In The Way Of Control' - The Gossip. So let's raise the bar, and our [tequila shot] to the stars...."

Coaxed by the crowd for more, Welch opted for an encore of The Gossip's 'Standing in the Way of Control.'

Adele Working On 'Edgy' New Album With Arctic Monkeys Producer 3589758 News

Adele is finally starting work on her third studio album, making every effort to follow her worldwide number 1 hit '21' with a new 'edgy' record.

The 'Rolling in the Deep' singer is certainly rolling in the millions at the moment with her impressive vocals earning her numerous Grammys, BRITS, a Golden Globe and an Oscar and it doesn't look like her career is going downhill anytime soon. She is set to work with two of the best names in the British music business James Ford and Kid Harpoon who have previously worked with some of Britain's favourite modern artists Florence Welch, Arctic Monkeys and Jessie Ware. "Adele wants to move with the times and is trying to make her new record sound as edgy as possible," a source told The Sun. "The team she's assembled is first rate and she's confident they can help match the success of her first two albums."

It wouldn't be overly confident to suggest that her next album will sell millions in its opening sales as it will probably be one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year on its release. We're guessing it won't be a tear-jerker like '21' either, what with Adele achieving some serious milestones in the last year both musically and personally as she is now a mother to a baby boy with her boyfriend, not to mention becoming filthy rich within two albums.

Ultra Music's celebrated artist roster is a driving force behind 'Ultra Music Festival 2013' with giant contributions from some of the label's biggest stars, including Wolfgang Gartner's newest single 'Anaconda;' the razor-edged 'Superliminal' from international icon deadmau5 from his latest album; Steve Aoki & Angger Dimas feat. About Ultra Music:

This decade, for even the most casual music fan opening up iTunes or browsing the most-viewed videos on YouTube, one name has become synonymous and inexorably intertwined with dance music in America: Ultra. Patrick Moxey's Ultra Music is the #1 independent EDM label worldwide. Since the mid-1990's, the independently owned, New York-based dance label has marketed and promoted EDM music to the masses. In embracing the growing importance of the internet as the dominant means of discovering music, Ultra Music beat the major labels to the front lines of what is now a lifestyle movement gone mainstream.  Ultra Music, via its visionary founder and CEO Patrick Moxey, has proven a key factor in the rise of EDM in America as it's known today to tens of millions of rabid fans worldwide.  Today, Ultra Music, based in Manhattan, boasts 33 full-time employees and offices in Europe and Canada, as well as a new Los Angeles outpost.

Since 1996, Ultra Music has built up a formidable roster of some of the biggest names in dance music from around the world. deadmau5, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Ferry Corsten, Wolfgang Gartner, Roger Sanchez, Above & Beyond, Calvin Harris, Tommie Sunshine, Benny Benassi and Bloody Beetroots are just some of the names the label has signed over the past decade and all are still on the current roster.  In addition to the label, the Ultra Music YouTube page is the eighth most-viewed channel with more than 2,000,000,000 views.

About Ultra Music Festival:

As the world's most famous outdoor electronic music festival, Ultra has won "Best Music Event" by the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) six consecutive years, from 2005 to 2011, "Best International Dance Music Festival" by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008 and "Best Festival" by the Village Voice Media New Times consecutively five years running from 2005 through 2009.  Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, Ultra has grown through the years to present not only the genre's hottest, biggest and best headline artists (The Prodigy, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, David Guetta, deadmau5, Underworld, Kraftwerk, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Carl Cox and Avicii to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, The Killers, New Order, Duran Duran, The Black Eyed Peas, Erasure, M83, Santigold, The Ting Tings, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Bloc Party). In 2012, global pop icon Madonna appeared as a special surprise guest-the festival's gift to their fans-to introduce the main stage final headlining artist AVICII, joining him behind the decks to premiere his UMF remix of her new single "Girl Gone Wild."  The year also was the subject of CAN U FEEL IT, a major documentary feature about the festival, which was shown in over 500 theatres nation-wide.  Together with its signature, cutting-edge productions, Ultra is unrivalled by consistently presenting the world's greatest, most diverse EDM line-ups year after year.

In 2013, as it celebrates its 15 year anniversary, Ultra will become the first major EDM festival in the world to expand to two weekends with dates set for March 15, 16 and 17 and March 22, 23 and 24. Weekend 2 is already sold out, and Ultra has broken their previous record with ticket sales in 83 countries so far for the 2013 Festival.

A global brand, Ultra Music Festival takes place in Miami, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ibiza and Korea, expanding into Europe with Ultra EUROPE July 2013 in Croatia.

Florence Welch Gives Kendrick Lamar Fans A Treat With Impromptu Tube Performance 3461884 News

Fans travelling home from Kendrick Lamar’s London show recently were given a bonus extra performance after they found themselves sharing a London Underground carriage with Florence Welch!

Welch had been spotted at the show beforehand on Sunday night (January 20, 2013), but opted to take the tube instead of a private car. Keeping a low profile was never going to work with that shock of red hair, and she soon found herself being serenaded by a bunch of fans singing her hit ‘You’ve Got The Love.’ However, rather than shy away, Welch opted to play up to the crowd: “Florence jumped on the Tube after Kendrick and, as you can imagine, every carriage was packed” a source told The Sun. “At first she tried to keep a low profile but it didn’t take long for a few people to recognise her. They started singing 'You’ve Got The Love' but instead of bailing at the next stop, Florence joined in. It was brilliant.”

Welch wasn’t done there either, as if we didn’t already know that she was a fan of Lamar, she moved onto one of his tunes next; “She finished You’ve Got The Love before changing to the Kendrick Lamar song Backseat Freestyle” the insider said. Welch is a known fan of hip-hop, and can count A$AP Rocky and Drake among her pals.

Nme Awards 2013 Nominations Announced 3461946 Press Releases

NME is excited to reveal the nominations for its prestigious NME Awards 2013, which will take place on Wednesday 27th February at its brand new home, The Troxy in East London.  Music fans have cast thousands of votes across 22 categories for rock 'n' roll's most desirable awards ceremony.

New bands, cult heroes and rock legends lead the nominations this year with The Rolling Stones up for four awards ('Best Live Band, 'Best Book', 'Music Moment of The Year', 'Best Music Film') whilst two never before nominated acts Tame Impala and Haim have the same (Tame Impala - 'Best International Band', 'Best Album', 'Best Track' and 'Best Music Video', Haim - 'Best New Band', 'Best Track', 'Best Music Video', 'Best Twitter'), as does M.I.A. despite only releasing one single since the last NME Awards ('Best Track', 'Best Music Video', 'Best Dancefloor Anthem', 'Best Twitter').

Mick Jagger says: "It's very nice to be nominated. When I first heard it was four things, I thought, 'Ooh, blimey! That's very nice!'" And it's not a journalists-only thing, it's not a coterie of closely-knit people choosing. It's funny, because when we were rehearsing at Wembley arena last year, it was where we used to do the NME Pollwinners. We remembered, it was the first time we ever played 'Jumping Jack Flash', at one of those Pollwinners concerts!"

Unsung Heroes of NME Awards past The Maccabees are up for three along with NME Awards favourites Arctic Monkeys and David Bowie.  Muse and Kasabian, normally massive winners at the NME Awards, are nominated for just three awards between them, Kasabian for 'Best British Band' and Muse for 'Best Twitter' and 'Worst Band'.

The Maccabees, Biffy Clyro and The Cribs are set to fight it out for two of the night's biggest awards, they are up for 'Best British Band' and 'Best Live act'.  Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian and The Vaccines also receive nods for 'Best British Band' whilst Blur, Foals and The Rolling Stones are also up for 'Best Live act'.  The Macabees and The Vaccines are also nominated in the much sought after 'Best Album category' alongside Jake Bugg, Alt J, and Tame Impala.

Harry Styles and David Cameron will fight it out for the undesirable 'Villain Of The Year' award alongside Psy, Skrillex, Fred Macpherson and Azealia Banks whilst David Bowie, Bradley Wiggins, Pussy Riot, Barack Obama, Frank Ocean and Dave Grohl are all up for 'Hero Of The Year'.

NME editor Mike Williams says: "The NME Awards is the highlight of the music calendar and the most Rock'n'roll party of the year, so it's incredibly exciting to see such a wide range of artists nominated this time around. Rightly so, all the early plaudits will go to Haim, Tame Impala, MIA and the legendary Rolling Stones who lead the way with four nominations each, but it¹s testament to the exquisite taste of the NME audience that artists as wide ranged as Frank Ocean, Jake Bugg, Pussy Riot and David Bowie are recognised too. To say it¹s shaping up to be a classic is a huge understatement!"

In a brand new venue, and with exciting live performances soon to be announced, the NME Awards 2013 is set to be the biggest and best yet.
