The Stone Roses Drummer 'Goes Home'

The Stone Roses drummer Reni has reportedly ''gone home'' after their set in Amsterdam tonight (12.06.12).

Tensions within the reformed band - who are playing their first shows in 16 years - appeared to show at the end of their performance in the capital of the Netherlands, when Ian told fans ''the drummer's gone home,'' rather than them taking to the stage for an expected encore.

Reports suggest there had been problems with the drum sounds through the gig, but concertgoers were confused when instead of playing 'I Am the Resurrection' only Ian returned to the stage, and told them: ''I'm not joking, the drummer's gone home. Get all your aggro out on me, I can take it.''

He then reportedly added: ''What can I say, the drummer's a ****.''

It is not clear if Ian meant Reni had gone home for the night, or was quitting the tour altogether.

Journalist Gordon Smart tweeted: ''Word from #stoneroses camp. Brown wanted encore, Reni didn't. [Ian] went onstage and called Reni a ****. Reni on way home.''

He also added: ''The gig was brilliant until that point apparently. They don't always do an encore, so might just be drama...''

Website Louder Than War, who were also at the concert, tweeted: ''Ian Brown remark about Reni 'tongue in cheek' according to our man on the spot...''

They later added: ''No updates, great gig with an open and strange ending, hard to guess.''

The Stone Roses - which also includes bass player Mani and guitarist John Squire - reformed last year and have so far played shows in Warrington, Northern England and Barcelona, Spain.

The latter show ended with a ten-minute encore of 'I am the Resurrection'.

The band's current European dates lead up to three consecutive hometown appearances in Manchester at the end of their month, before they are scheduled to play a number of festival shows.
