The Strokes have no plans to tour Comedown Machine

The Strokes have no plans to tour their new album 'Comedown Machine'.

The New York rockers are set to release their fifth studio album in March and while they have remained quiet about their music up to now, bassist Nikolai Fraiture has revealed the band have yet to confirm any concerts to promote their upcoming record.

When asked about the possibility of live shows by Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe on his Thursday night (21.02.13) show, Nikolai simply replied: ''I don't know, I would love to tour.''

The musician was, however, open to discuss the recording of their new work and described the process him and his bandmates - Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond, Jr. and Fabrizio Moretti - used to create the songs through as similar to the ''good old days''.

He continued:''We got off tour and we had these songs, some left over and some new. We rehearsed in Electric Lady [studios] and it was working so we went with it. It was touch and go for a while but we finished up at Electric Lady in New York. We recorded ten or eleven songs and there is other stuff floating around.

''We hashed it out all together like the good old days. It's a legendary studio and it is not far away from us all, apart from Nick who lives in Los Angeles but he made the trip out to record.''

'Comedown Machine' will be released on March 25.

“One Way Trigger” sounded more like Julian Casablancas than The Strokes. I got tired of the synths so I made this down to earth version: https://sites.google.com/site/videothestrokesonewaytrigger/
