Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones Play '50 Songs In Five Days' At Rehearsals

The Rolling Stones played ''50 songs in five days'' at rehearsals earlier this week.

The legendary 'Wild Horses' group got back in the studio in the US earlier this week to begin preparations for their 50th anniversary, and guitarist Ronnie Wood said the rehearsals have been ''brilliant'' so far.

Speaking at the opening of 'Rolling Stones 50, A Photographic Exhibition', at Somerset House in London this evening (12.07.12), Ronnie told BANG Showbiz: ''We had a good play in New York five days ago, we did 50 songs in five days, it was brilliant.''

Vocalist Sir Mick Jagger admitted he is surprised about the group - who are completed by drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Keith Richards - getting back in the studio, but he is ''really happy'' about the band's preparations for their 50th anniversary.

He said: ''It feels really good, if a little long in the tooth - l'm just kidding. It's quite surprising, it does seem a long time, but I'm really happy about it.''

The '(I Can't get No) Satisfaction' hitmakers are expected to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a celebratory tour next year, but the group refused to be drawn on whether they are planning to play live again.

Charlie added: ''We've not made any plans for playing live yet, just rehearsing.''

The group played their first ever gig at London's Marquee Club exactly 50 years ago today on July 12, 1962.

'Rolling Stones 50, A Photographic Exhibition', is a free exhibition of photographs charting the band's history at Somerset House, London, which runs from tomorrow (13.07.12) until August 27.
