The Police Confirm New Dates As Tour Gets Underwayby Contributor | 29 May 2007
The Police have confirmed two new US shows as part of their reunion tour, which kicked off in Vancouver yesterday.
A date at Madison Square Garden in New York has been added for October 31st and another has scheduled in Boston for November 11th.
Singer Sting, guitarist Andy Summer and drummer Stewart Copeland have begun their world tour with three sold out shows at GM Place in Vancouver and the group were in light-hearted mood on the first of those nights.
"I'd like to introduce the band," Sting joked. "Andy, this is Stewart." The crowd included actress Penelope Cruz and Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder.
The Police stuck to mostly greatest hits at the show and a newly packaged hits selection is due to be released on June 11th to coincide with the tour.
The band played the singles Roxanne, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Message in a Bottle and Every Breath you Take.
A world tour including dates in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Japan and the US is planned.
