The Maccabees Slept In Airport
The band was due to fly out from Munich Airport ahead of a gig at Scotland's T in the Park music festival but the local Air Traffic Control suffered a system failure leading to hours of delays and cancellations for thousands of passengers.
The MACcabees were caught up in the chaos and had to sleep at the airport overnight after they were left stranded.
Guitarist Felix White tells Britain's Xfm radio station, "They had little camp beds and stuff. It was quite a scrap (to get a bed)... It was a bit of a nightmare to be honest with you but it was an experience."
The band made it to T in the Park in time for the show, but they lost some of their equipment along the way.
Speaking backstage prior to their set, he added, "All the drums aren't here and the pedals - we've borrowed various pedals from people."
