The Killers Speak Out On Death Of Marth

The Killers admit the death of their saxophonist puts things into ''sharp perspective''.

The group were stunned last month when Thomas Marth - who toured with the group and recorded with them on their last two albums - committed suicide and are still trying to come to terms with his passing.

Singer Brandon Flowers told Q magazine: ''When you go through life and everything seems sunny and then you get hit with that? It put everything into sharp perspective.''

Thomas died after shooting himself in the head earlier this year at his Las Vegas home.

The 33-year-old musician played on the live tours with the 'Mr. Brightside' hitmakers between 2008 and 2010 and performed on their albums 'Sam's Town' and 'Day & Age'.

Paying tribute to their friend following his death, Brandon, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci posted a statement on The Killers' website.

It read: ''Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy.''
